What is Art?

With starting the semester, I like pose a question to all of my high school students; What is Art?
Before we discuss this topic in class, I want to know from you all what your ideas about what you art is are.
Required assignment: After brainstorming and collecting your thoughts; I would like each student to post a comment on this blog post. Each response should include at least one well thought out definition of art.
If you have never posted a comment to a blog post here is how it goes:

At the bottom of this post there will be a link in yellow that says '0 comments' (or if there are any comments it would say the number of how many comments have been left for example: 8 comments) Click this link and it will take you to a page with a box on the right side that says 'Leave your comment'. This is where you should put your response.

I look forward to reading your responses and as a class we will review these responses and go into deeper discussion regarding the question.
